Accell Clean® SBR enhances the growth and metabolism of the indigenous heterotrophic bacteria that are responsible for effective biodegradation of petroleum-contaminated soil. This action results in faster, more complete remediation of oil contaminated soils when compared to conventional treatments, such as adding engineered bacteria strains. The higher bacteria levels, coupled with the accelerated uptake and subsequent breakdown of the oil, illustrate the significant reduction in the time that would be needed to remediate a site.
With proper treatment protocols, Accell Clean® SBR has been proven to enhance the growth of soil and water microflora, enhance the uptake and digestion/bio-oxidation, or breakdown, of petroleum and other organic chemicals at highly accelerated rates compared to the untreated microbial community. Accell Clean® SBR is diluted in a mixing tank to make a 6% solution. Slowly apply to bioremediation bed allowing percolation through the soil. (If soil is impermeable, roughening with a mechanical/hand rake is recommended.) For the first week, add water to keep the moisture level in the solid at 60%-80% of the field soil holding capacity. At end of week, soil should be turned/tilled to augment oxygenation. For each subsequent week of treatment, the 6% solution is applied followed with maintenance of the moisture content.
Storage and Handling
Accell Clean® SBR should be handled with protective gloves and eye/face protection. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Take of contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. Keep container tightly closed until ready for use. Store in cool, well ventilated place that is locked. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Do not reuse empty container. Accell Clean® SBR has a shelf life of 2 years.
