Accell® STR - Surface Tension Reduction

Accell® STR is a protein-surfactant composition used to reduce surface and interfacial tension during the manufacture of membrane filtration equipment.


The use rate of Accell® STR for lightly soiled surfaces, dilute 1–2 oz (29.6–59.1 mL) in a gallon (3.78 L) of water. Use 2–3 oz (59.1–88.7 mL) for moderate to heavily soiled surfaces, and 8 oz (250 mL) for heavily soiled areas. Test compatibility of product with rubber or plastic components before full scale use.

Storage and Handling

Accell® STR should be handled with protective gloves and eyewear. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Keep container tightly closed until ready for use. Store in cool, well ventilated place that is locked. Avoid long exposure to heat or cold. Dispose of contents/container in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations. Do not reuse empty container. Accell® STR has a shelf life of 2 years.
