A WORD ABOUT POROUS FLOORS AND SURFACES

Ceramic tiles, concrete, marble and other porous materials are used in many restaurants, plants and garages. The porous design is meant to improve traction. With most floor cleaners, typically alkaline/surfactant cleaners, the pores get filled with grease, oil, food particles, dirt and cleaner residue. This means that a recently mopped floor will become slippery when it gets wet. The oils in the pores come to the surface of the spilled water and traction becomes poor.

The "keeps on working" phenomenon of the C.O.D.E. cleaner means that the pores become cleaned out, typically within a couple weeks, depending on the conditions. The result is a floor that provides traction, even when wet.

The same phenomenon applies to other porous surfaces, such as marble floors in theaters as well as concrete floors in automotive shops, garages and industrial facilities.

Finally, by eliminating grease in the pores, nutrients for bacteria are reduced, which improves the overall cleanliness of the facility.

The C.O.D.E. will not remove heavy stains in concrete floors which may be embedded with particles such as metal fines and inorganic materials. These substances require a more aggressive cleaner, typically steam cleaning or a solvent based cleaner. What is important to note is that the C.O.D.E. cleaner will break down the organic nutrients in the stain which should improve the cleanliness, thought removal of stains is highly dependent on the type of stain.
